At Nearest Beer Shop, we are committed to getting your favourite beers, ciders, and spirits to you safely and quickly. As a family-run business, we take great care in packaging your orders to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

1. Dispatch & Processing Times

  • Order Cut-off: All orders placed Friday to Monday will be dispatched on Wednesday. Orders placed Tuesday to Thursday before 12pm will be dispatched the next working day.

2. UK Delivery Rates

We use APC for our deliveries to ensure age verification and safe handling.

  • Mainland UK Standard Delivery: £8.50 (Typically arrives in 1-3 working days).

  • Free Delivery: We offer Free Delivery on orders over £60 to Mainland UK addresses.

    • Please Note: As stated on our homepage, the free delivery calculation may exclude certain high-value or heavy items such as specific wines or spirits. The cart will automatically calculate if you qualify.

3. Non-Mainland UK & Highlands

Delivery to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands may incur a surcharge depending on the weight of the parcel.

4. Click & Collect (Bridgend)

Local to Bridgend? You can save on shipping by collecting your order directly from our shop.

  • Address: Nearest Beer Shop, 40a Caroline Street, Bridgend, CF31 1DQ.

  • Collection Hours:

    • Tuesday & Wednesday: 10am – 4pm

    • Thursday – Saturday: 10am – 6pm

  • Process: Select “Click & Collect” at checkout. We will email or text you when your order is ready to pick up (usually within 2 hours). Please bring your order number and ID.

5. Age Verification (Challenge 25)

By law, we cannot sell or deliver alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.

  • Signature Required: All deliveries require a signature from an adult (18+).

  • ID Check: Our couriers operate a “Challenge 25” policy. If the recipient looks under 25, they will be asked to provide valid photo ID (Passport or Driving Licence) upon delivery. If no ID is available, the parcel cannot be left.

  • Safe Place: Due to age restrictions, alcohol cannot be left in a “safe place” or “on the doorstep” without a signature.

6. Breakages & Damaged Goods

While we use specialist packaging to protect your bottles and cans, accidents can occasionally happen in transit.

  • What to do: If your parcel arrives damaged, please do not accept delivery if the leakage is visible. If you discover damage after opening:

    1. Take clear photos of the damaged packaging and broken items.

    2. Email us at nearestbeershop@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery.

    3. Include your Order Number in the subject line.

  • We will arrange a replacement or refund for the damaged items immediately.

7. International Shipping

Currently, we only ship to addresses within the United Kingdom.
