We want you to be completely happy with your order from Nearest Beer Shop. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on the quality of our craft beer, cider, wine, and spirits.
However, we understand that sometimes things go wrong or you may change your mind. Our policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and compliant with UK Consumer Law.
1. Damaged or Faulty Items
If your order arrives damaged, or if the product is faulty (e.g., corked wine or flat beer), we are here to help.
Breakages in Transit: If you can hear broken glass or see liquid leaking from the parcel upon delivery, please refuse the delivery or sign for it as “Damaged”.
Reporting Issues: Please email us at nearestbeershop@gmail.com or call us on 07592 154995 within 24 hours of receiving your goods.
Evidence: To process a claim quickly, please include:
Your Order Number.
Photos of the damaged packaging and the damaged items.
Resolution: We will offer a replacement (if stock is available) or a full refund for the affected items, including any applicable delivery charges.
Important regarding “Off” Beer/Wine: If you believe a product is spoiled (e.g., infected beer or corked wine), please do not dispose of the liquid or the container. We may require the batch number from the packaging or ask for the item to be returned to us for testing with the brewery/producer.
2. Changing Your Mind (Right to Cancel)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods.
Condition: To be eligible for a return, your items must be unopened, sealed, and in the same condition that you received them. Labels and packaging must be intact.
Process:
Notify us via email at nearestbeershop@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery.
Ship the items back to us at the address below within 14 days of notifying us.
Return Shipping Costs: If you are returning items because you changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. We strongly recommend using a tracked service and packaging the bottles securely, as we cannot refund items that break on their way back to us.
Refund: Once we receive and inspect the return, we will refund the cost of the items to your original payment method. Note: Original delivery charges are refunded at the standard rate only.

4. Non-Returnable Items
For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on:
Items that have been opened or unsealed (unless faulty).
Perishable goods with a short shelf life.
Gift Cards.
5. Click & Collect Returns
If you ordered via Click & Collect and wish to return an item, you can do so in person at our Bridgend store during opening hours. Please bring your order confirmation email and the payment card used for the purchase.
6. Refunds
Refunds are processed within [5-7] working days of us receiving the returned goods. The money will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Please note that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
