Description
This is a 6.0% New England IPA that’s been built from the ground up to be the ultimate expression of the style. With this many experts in one room (and some of the best hop and yeast tech from WHC and Barth Haas), it’s a masterclass in modern saturation.
The Lowdown
- The Style: A high-spec New England IPA. It’s thick, incredibly hazy, and designed for maximum aroma.
- The Stats: It sits at 6.0% ABV, providing a luscious, silky body that carries a huge hop load without being heavy.
- The Cause: Just like previous years, it’s a charity release—50p from every can goes directly to supporting cancer charities.
The Build
This batch uses some of the most advanced hop products on the market to ensure it’s "dripping" with flavour:
- The Hops: A heavy-duty blend including Citra Spectrum (a liquid hop extract for intense aroma), Azacca Cryo, Bru-1, and Simcoe.
- The Yeast: They’ve used a specialized strain from WHC Labs designed specifically to boost "biotransformation"—the process that turns hop oils into those massive tropical esters.
- The Grist: Premium Muntons malts and plenty of oats create that signature "pillowy" mouthfeel.
Tasting Notes
On the pour, it’s a glowing, opaque yellow with a dense, mousse-like head. The aroma is an absolute riot of pineapple, ripe mango, and pink grapefruit. The first sip is remarkably soft and velvety; you get a huge wave of tropical fruit "juice" with a unique hint of dank pine and a whisper of coconut (from the Bru-1). It finishes incredibly smooth with almost no perceived bitterness, just a lingering, zesty tropical sweetness.
