Description

This is a masterclass in the American Pale Ale style. It’s designed to be the definitive beach beer—light, punchy, and incredibly refreshing without being overly complicated. It’s their best-selling brew for a reason.

The Lowdown

  • The Style: A Tropical American Pale Ale (APA). While it’s bursting with fruit flavours, the brewery is very proud of the fact that no actual fruit was used—it’s all down to the clever use of hops.

  • The Stats: It sits at a perfect session strength of 4.2% ABV, making it ideal for a long afternoon by the sea.

  • The Vibe: Bright, zesty, and effortlessly cool. It’s a “fridge staple” for a reason.

The Hop Profile

They’ve used a “triple threat” of big-hitting American hops to deliver those massive tropical notes:

  • Mosaic: The heavy lifter, bringing layers of ripe mango, stone fruit, and a hint of earthy berry.

  • Simcoe: Adding a classic West Coast touch with its signature passion fruit and a clean, resinous pine finish.

  • Ekuanot: Providing a complex citrus zing, specifically notes of lime, papaya, and a touch of fresh green herbs.

Tasting Notes

On the pour, it’s a beautiful, hazy golden-straw colour with a persistent white head. On the nose, it’s a total tropical riot—you get an immediate hit of peach and grapefruit. The first sip is light and crisp; the pale malts provide a clean, slightly biscuity base that lets the hops do all the talking. You get waves of tropical juice followed by a very gentle, balanced bitterness that keeps it remarkably sessionable.
